Making a referral to Audacious Volunteers (Formerly Macmillan Solutions)
Audacious care solutions offers emotional and practical support to people affected by cancer in their own homes or local community venues. Audacious solutions aim to give beneficiaries more independence, choice and control in their lives, by providing them with a range of support depending on their needs.
Audacious Solutions is available to anyone affected by cancer, whether you have just been diagnosed, are undergoing treatment or are in remission.
Our volunteers support cancer patients, their families, carers and friends.

Referring to Audacious Solutions is easy. Just pick up the phone and talk to us or send us an email. We accept self referrals as well as referrals from health and social care organisations.

Emotional Support and Therapy Service at the Tameside Macmillan Unit
In partnership with the Tameside MacMillan Unit, Tameside and Glossop Healthy Minds service offer support and treatment for those who are affected by cancer and experiencing symptoms such as difficulty sleeping, low mood / depression, stress, worry or anxiety, feelings of hopelessness or panic attacks. The service can also help those dealing with the effects of a long-term health problems or chronic pain, Post Natal Depression, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, phobias, or disordered eating.
If you would like to make a direct referral to Tameside and Glossop Healthy Minds service at the Tameside Macmillan Unit you can do so using the online referral portal here:

The Tameside and Glossop Healthy Minds service is for people over the age of 16 years, who are registered with a GP or reside in the Tameside and Glossop area.
In the referral please indicate clearly that it is for the attention of the Healthy Minds service at the Tameside MacMillan Unit.
Please be aware that the Tameside and Glossop Healthy Minds Service in is a NON-URGENT Psychological Therapy service for mild to moderate mental health difficulties.
If there is an immediate and /or significant risk, a GP referral to the RAID service is required.

Making a referral to Tameside Live Well Live Active Service
Once referred, we will arrange a 1 on 1 meeting with one of our Specialist Lifestyle Advisors who will individualise an exercise programme or advise on appropriate physical activity to suit needs and medical history. The advisor will also take some vital measurements, to monitor progress and health and ensure the programme is working upon your initial consultation and then again throughout. Guidance through the entire process.

Be Well Tameside is a holistic, early intervention and prevention service supporting Tameside residents who present a range of lifestyle issues and other factors which impact on their health and wellbeing.
Be Well Tameside offers a free confidential NHS one-to-one Stop Smoking service. Offering support, advice and encouragement to help smokers quit smoking for good. Be Well Tameside offers:

Be Well Tameside is committed to helping our Tameside residents and those who work, stay in hospital or have a GP in Tameside.
Be Well Tameside can support anyone from the age of 16 plus, for stop smoking support there is no age criteria but most pharmacotherapy products can be recommended from age 12 onwards.

Get up and Go
Get up and Go Is a brand-new Age UK Tameside support service for older people who want to get back on track, sometimes in life you can feel down, a little stuck, or find it hard coping with major change like loss or bereavement.
Our service offers up to 6 weeks one to one support by qualified professional staff who understand the ups and downs life can bring. Support can be provided in the home or at a local community space close to where you live.
The service also offers group support for those older people who find it helps to be with other people going through similar experiences.
To access the service you need to complete a referral form and return it to referrals@ageuktameside.com
