Going purple for Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Month

November has been Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Month and to help raise awareness the Hepato-Pancreato-Billary Team arranged for Werneth House to be turned purple.

Survival rates have improved enormously for most cancers. Sadly, for pancreatic cancer, this is not the case. Currently, more than half of people diagnosed with pancreatic cancer die within three months.

The awareness month seeks to change that chilling fact, asking us all to transform how we detect, diagnose, treat and care for people with pancreatic cancer.

During the month members of the HPB Team were also raising awareness of the symptoms of pancreatic cancer at a stall in Hartshead South.
